A.Make a comment about another groups presentation. What did you like? or learn? or find interesting? B. If you could do your presentation over again, what would you do differently or add in? OR What would you change/adjust about this project?

  1. A. Teen Pregnancy: I liked the skit, I learned the leading cause of pregnancy is sex, & I found most of the information interesting.
Incest: I liked the information, I learned what incest really is, & the presentation was good.
Suicide: I liked the video shown, I learned some interesting information about suicide.
Motorcycle Gang: I liked the information, it was all really interesting.
Drug Addiction: The stories provided had really interesting information.
    B. For our presentation I wouldn't have wanted us to do anything different.

  2. A) I enjoyed the presentations that included a real life interview or speaker. The Teen Motherhood group and Drug Addiction group did a good job of using these life stories to demonstrate that their topics are actually things that happen often, and not just in big cities, but all around us as well. Although I know that presenting statistics is important too, the "factual spew" portions of all of the presentations made it a bit more difficult to stay focused. But I think each of the groups also did a good job of off-setting the statistics with a more engaging portion of their presentation, like the scenario that the Teen Pregnancy group played out and the video clips that the Motorcycle Gang and Suicide groups used. They were all very informational. The real footage of the Hell's Angels was really interesting... But I kind of disagree with their statement about how the little kids who deny BS end up in their gang. I sort of think it's the opposite of that, haha. I learned a lot about the patches' meanings though!
    B) If our group was to do our project again, I think we would focus more on the personal side of incestuous relationships, and talk more about the horrible and life-long damaging effects of these relationships from emotional, to social, to physical. Also, focusing more on the personal side of incest, I think we would do a better job of relating these effects to the book and Jen's experience with incest. And one more thing, we would probably reschedule our check-in meeting with Ms. O'Niell, saving ourselves two points right off the bat. :)
I like the essence of this project, and I think it does a good job of taking the book's meaning further than simply reading the words on the page. Chinese Handcuffs is one of the best books I have ever read, and I love that, though they are painful for the characters in the book, there are so many valuable situations, mistakes, and stories to learn from.

  3. A. I like the teen pregnancy skit because of the speaker. I pay attention better when someone's talking about real life experiences and not just statistics. I also liked the drugs group because they did a lot of stories. All the groups did an excellent job and deserve A's.

    B. Even though it would be weird, I think we should have had a speaker with a story for our group.

  4. A) I enjoyed the presentation about drugs the best they taught me that the reason for most drugs is people thinking that the different drugs don't hurt you as much. I also enjoyed Franks skit. Anther enjoyment was the biker gangs. They make me think about what they are going through their heads. They say they are of their own authority but they have the same names as president and vice-president and secretary. This is very hypocritical also they have all of their patches. I don't understand why they are proud of the things they did that gave them these patches. I have to say I learned a lot.

    B) If I have the option to redo my project I would want the whole hour because we didn't have enough time to relate suicide

  5. Whoops I meant teen motherhood not teen pregnancy.

  6. A) The group that caught my attention the most was the motorcycle gang group. I didn't know anything about motorcycle gangs before they presented and I walked away with new information. I thought they did a fine job of presenting. I didn't realize how many groups we had in Minnesota and I also didn't know about the patches they have on their vests. Besides for the wing badges... I thought it was all quite interesting.
    B) If I did our presentation over again, I would pay more attention to the calendar for our date to discuss our project. I would also research more about stories or someone's personal experiences with incest.

  7. B. if I were to redo my presentation I would try to make it exactly the same because there was nothing wrong with ours.
    A. The incest presentation had the fact or crap game which made me learn oh so much.

  8. A. I really liked how both the suicide and drug addiction groups had personal stories that gave the subject a more personal feeling. With personal stories from the area, we can see that these things are not just book things, but happen in our area and life.

    B. If we did this again I would try to find a different activity that involves people more, and overall makes the presentation more interesting and engaging.

  9. A) I enjoyed the information about the types of drugs displayed in "Drugs" presentation. I was told all sorts of random things that made me think. I liked that. I also enjoyed the skit in the teen pregnancy presentation, but then again, who didn't? The Fact or Crap part of incest was mucho funo. I learned a boat load of stuff about the Hells Angels from preparing for our own presentation.
    B) If we could have a do-over, we would probably learn more about the racial boundaries of each gang.

  10. A) In the Teen Motherhood presentation, I enjoyed the speaker coming into the classroom and sharing her personal story. I think if more people would hear people's experiences through tough times in their lives they can learn from it. The suicide group was very thorough on their information, their video however scared me a bit, its so frustrating that there could be so many signs of depression and so many people don't see them or don't tell anybody about these warnings. We live in a world where body language is the ultimate way to tell what a person is feeling. We can learn from this presentation to be more aware of people's emotions. The drug addiction presentation was a presentation that I wanted to learn more about. Drug addictions can happen to anyone at anytime. The story was a story that I won't forget; for someone to get have an addiction and go to several treatment centers and to eventually overcome it and be a leader to help people is absolutely amazing and inspirational. The teen pregnancy presentation was a presentation to remember :) There were do many good aspects to the presentation especially the skit. Great acting! The motorcycle gangs presentation had information that I simply did not know about. You learn something new everyday. I didn't know that we had such gangs in Minnesota or possibly even around this rural area! Scary thought!

    B) If I were to change or improve our project I would maybe find a more personal story about incest. The topic of incest itself is a very awkward and touchy subject for some people. I even felt uncomfortable looking up incest information. My parents always questioned why I was looking it up. Though it was a topic we couldn't bring in a speaker in for, I think we coped well with our example in the video. Another way I would improve it is finding an alternative day for our consultation with Ms. O'Neill.

  11. Teen Motherhood: The speaker was nice. Normally when topics like this are presented it is shown in a kind of light like making this mistake will destroy your life. Having a person right in front of you talking about how they lived through it kind of lessens that.
Teen Pregnancy: Nice skit guys. I thought it would be tricky for you to provide information that the other group didn't cover, since the two topics are so closely related, but you managed to pull it off. The statistics caught me by surprise.
Drug Addiction: I liked the information in this presentation. It was interesting hearing about how hard it would be to OD on marijuana. I have heard comparisons in the past between between marijuana and cigarettes and how the former might be less harmful than the latter. I had also heard that ecstasy would only kill you through dehydration before, so hearing about emotional burnout and bad pills was eye opening. It was disheartening hearing the low success of treatment centers. It makes sense though, because few of those kids actually want to quit if they're drinking toilet water or fermenting food, and for that kind of change you must start within yourself. Addiction is tricky. Also, I'm kind of uneasy hearing the usage statistics being so high. They're meant to be scary, but people are more afraid of things that are rare.
Regrettably, I was absent for Incest and Suicide.

As for something I would do differently, I would work on our transitions between topics because it's never good to end a slide with "so yeah" and there was a lot of potential for improvement. Also I wish we would have known the racial supremacy aspect of the Hell's Angels.

  12. Teen Pregnancy- the personal story added a lot to the topic.

Drug Addiction- I learned a lot about drugs that I did not know before.

Teen Motherhood- I liked the skit, it added character to the topic.

Incest- I learned about it being legal and illegal.

Motorcycle Gangs- I learned a lot about e topic that I didn't know before, about how they acted and everything else.

If I had to redo our project I would probably put more time into but other than that- nothing

  13. I liked all the presentations and all the information that was told. The one thing that stuck out to me though was how often incest. I also liked the skit that teenage pregnancy did.
For our project I wouldn't want to change anything about it.

  14. I really enjoyed the biker gang project, I could tell they did alot of research on their topic because of all the things they told us. I learned the most from this group and am happy I know about biker gangs because of themI could of changed something about our presentation. I would if asked a cop to bring in some samples of drugs so we all know what they look and smell like. Also I would of gotten more personal stories too.

  15. I thought the motor cycle gang presentation was the most interesting. Before the presentation I didn't really know anything about them and how big they actually are. I liked the skit in the teen pregnancy presentation because it provided a real life example. I also liked that the teen motherhood group had someone come in to talk to us. Overall I thought all the presentations were very good.

If I would do our presentation again I would maybe try to get someone to come in and talk other than just getting an interview with them.

  16. A) Teen pregnancy: I liked the skit they did. I also liked all the information they gave us. I learned a couple of new things I didn't know before.
Incest and suicide: I wasn't in school when they presented. I would of liked to be there though.
Motorcycle Gangs: I learned a lot about the topic. I walked into class not knowing a thing and I walked out with a bunch of new information. I liked the video they showed and all the group of motorcycle gangs they showed.
Drug addiction: I liked this one a lot. I liked how they put a bunch of information about each kind of drug. I also enjoyed the personal story because they actually had a lot of information about the person.

    B) and for our presentation I would spend a little more time on it and i would look up more information on the topic. i felt like we barely had any information about the topic. Other than that I thought our group did a great job.

  17. A) Teen pregnancy: this was my favorite one because you showed a video to why these things happen. Sometimes are parents don't spend much time talking to us about sex or how sometimes we do things without thinking and saying this isnt going to happen to me. I also loved the skit they put together it kept us pay attention. Overall you guys did a wonderful job.
Incest and suicide: suicide was very hard...it was very well done but it was sad. You would of never think how much depression can do to a person and how we have the power to help someone and sometimes we are scared to help or sometimes were too late or we walk away. But it was well done too good job.
Motorcycle Gangs: I didn't even know there was such thing about motorcycle gangs. I thought they were just people gong put for a ride with a bunch of friends. I learned a lot of this one.
Drug addiction: had a lot of information about each drug. Some of the drugs you guys had on I didn't really know about and how it also has a lot of impact on people who do drugs and how it effect them at school and how hard it is for them to get help.
    B) If I could of changed so hung on our it would of been spending gore time talking about culture in our because motherhood is different in cultures and how parent react differently other than hat I think we all did a great job.

  18. I really enjoyed the biker gang and all the different badges they had. How they had four main biker gangs and hells angels was the biggest biker gang.
We could have done more research.

  19. A) I really liked the presentations that gave real life examples. All of the presentations were wonderful. The drug addiction group gave great real life examples. They gave a lot of information, they did a wonderful job. Incest did a great job with their presentation, that was pretty difficult information to share in front of the class. It's really sad that stuff like that actually happens in our corrupt world. Motorcycle gangs group shared a ton of information. I never knew that they had certain patches for certain things/achievements. Suicide did a great job, their stories and information was extremely interesting. I like that Jade shared her story, that took guts. That was difficult information to share, especially in front of the class. Great job! really liked the skit that teen pregnancy did, it was quite entertaining. Kept the class paying attention.
    B) If I could change anything about our teen motherhood project it would probably be the way we presented our information, if anything. Otherwise I wouldn't change anything.
Overall I thought these projects were extremely informational and interesting. Definitely worth doing. I learned a lot of stuff about those topics that I never knew before. Some of the information was extremely sad and disturbing because it actually happens in this world, sadly. Every group did a great job.

  20. The group that did incest explained it well. Suicide did a good job of showing that suicide happens more then we think. They also showed that we can help to prevent suicide and depression. I liked there real life stories. The skit that teen pregnancy did was a fun way to show that teen pregnancy can be prevented by getting people more aware. The motorcycle gang had a lot of good information. I learned what a motorcycle gang really is and that they do exist. I think the drug addiction group did a nice job of helping people become more aware of drug addict. Their real life stories helped to show that there is a way to stop your addicts and there is always help. If I could change something in our groups presentation I would relate teen motherhood more to the book. Stacy was a teen mom in the book and it would had been better if we would had related our topic to her more.

  21. What i would change about our own project I would like to have a bit more time, to present. We had a few videos that we wanted to show. I did enjoy the biker gangs presentation it was filled with a lot of facts and very entertaining.

  22. Our project was super fun! I thou rely enjoyed listening to the other groups especially all the personal stories like from Jaden and Ariel's mom. If we did this again I would encourage Soy Sauce to go further with Miles.

  23. A) the biker gang presentation was very interesting because the way it is set up like an actual society. Suicide was a great presentation because it was very informative with their information and did hit close to home.

  24. B) I was satisfied with our project for the most part the only part I would've changed is maybe talked about treatments a little more.

  25. A) I really liked the incest group. I loved the whole presentation, but what I really liked about the presentation was when they showed that incest clip from that show which I forgot the name of. That video really showed what incest was and what it looked like. Although it really disturbed me.

    B) What I would change in my groups presentation was when I talked about when I use to cut myself. I wish I could have practiced more saying it so I wasn't so scared to talk about it, even though it was really hard to come out and tell everyone my darkest secret.

  26. I liked acting in the class it was pretty fun. I think I might join theater next year. I liked watching the biker one because I actually paid really good attention to this one. I think its cool how they got all of the different abbreviation for all the different things. If I did this again I would bring in the movie Juno

  27. I really liked the teen motherhood group because their presentation really stuck out to me because being a minority society sometimes views us that we might get pregnant during high school and drop out and stuff and hearing the speaker I know that everyone can succeed in life no matter what.(: I learned from the motorcycle gang that the bells angels are the biggest in the nation and they don't follow the "rules" given to motorcycle gangs. I learned from the drugs group that there are a lot more drugs out there than just cigarettes and tobacco in general.
